Sailor Moon Exposed Part 7 An Insight About Sailor Galaxia's Awakening

We will look at Sailor Galaxia in the Sailor Moon Cosmos Movie and the disturbing implications behind her awakening.

In the Manga her origins was not expanded upon. Until now with a film adaptation of the Stars Arc which follows the manga closely but adds a few expansions at the observation and input of Naoko.

A universal set of souls in that large crystal  including Usagis friends and Mamoru  whose physival bodies (and now crystal form) is  DEAD

After longing at Sailor Moon as a thing, a concept to bring her salvation. Galaxia dies in front of her eyes

Killed her Fiancee

Chibiusa fades out of existence as a result.

In the manga she revealed she lived in a desolate planet where people only looked to themselves and when she awakened  she wanted to be the one to rule the universe.  After her traumatic experiences it influenced why she made that descision.

Sailor Galaxia  commited universal genocide to acheive her goals, choked Sailor Moon (a MINOR SHE NEARLY MURDERED), and rejects Sailor Moon's ideology.
At the end she realises her mistake and dies as she reaches for Sailor Moon...not as her but as a concept a thing that can bring her salvation.

This scene reminded me of when Anthy got impaled by swords/ pitchforks by the villagers in Revolutionary Girl Utena

Sailor Moon Cosmos expanded on Galaxia's  backstory and she was g**** and impaled by swords and as that happened we see her shenshi form awaken.

R** is a very serious thing and causes lifelong mental trauma and changes  how you view yourself and your body as well as the world.
Once again the theme of trauma gives you powers is used as seen again, from Serenity unlocking the Silver Crystal and the multiple times Sailor Moon nearly lost control of her powers after a traumatic event and Sailor Chibi Moon awakening. This is a problematic theme which makes me question the aurthors intentions. As we can see if you watch the scene on Youtube or the Movie that s*** trauma   awakened Galaxia's  powers as a shenshi.

Trauma DOES NOT GIVE YOU POWERS NOR DOES IT MAKE YOU STRONG.
This is a  very harmful message for young women to internalize.

I think this backstory expansion was unessasary and I prefered the mystery behind Galaxia and not knowing much about her.
This revelation does not make her  symphetic it makes it seem like it is using trauma as an excuse for her crimes.

Remember she murdered SM's friends, future husband and child and millions of people. A slap in the face was Sailor Moon saved her even though she said 'she will never forgive her'. NO. We cannot excuse horrible acts like this because it is symphathizing people that do not regret their vile actions. At the end Galaxia still saw SM as an object  and never apologized or found a way to revive the people she killed.
Sailor Moon  had to do it all by herself and eventually the Star Seeds will return in the NEW WORLD...but as we saw only the Scouts, Mamoru and Chibiusa came back not Kakyuu who BEGGED Sailor Moon to revive her in the new world nor the Starlights.
This left a bad taste in my mouth because after all Sailor Moon went through she has to be tasked with doing things alone. It will get worse because with the existence of Sailor Cosmos she will never find peace in the diatsnt future.

It is okay to write irredemable villians, not everyone can be free or turn good. Most of the time writers often do this to show 'they have good in them' but this is handled so poorly that it is used to excuse horrible and criminal behaviour which can later influence others thoughts and beliefs when it comes to real life tyrants.
